AVORIAZ (613 km)
Avoriaz can be accessed by a four hour train ride, roughly, from Paris Gare de Lyon railway station to the town of Cluses. Another short fifty minutes taxi drive will bring you to this best-designed ski resort in France making it a popular choice for many traveler’s ski holiday for 2020.
The actual village is located in the middle of Portes du Soleil, from where one can opt for skiing in different paths and explore the nearby villages as well.

GERARDMER (436 km)
Gerardmer can be reached by a comfortable four hours drive from Paris. Located at a distance of 345 km, this is the closest of all the ski resorts from Paris. The nearest airport Belp, is just 137 km away.
There are a good range of hotels in Gerardmer, and one can pre-hire ski equipment there. Ski season starts normally from December to March. The height of the piste is 1132 m and the vertical drop almost 357 m.
LE MONT-DORE (466 km)
This popular ski resort is a bit further away from Paris at 367 km. Skiers have the option to either drive( four and a half hour) or fly to the St Exupery or Grenoble St Geoirs airports from where Le Mont-Dore is a short two hour drive.
There are 20 ski lifts in service here and the highest piste is at 1780 m with a vertical drop of 660 m. Apart from downhill skiing, cross-country skiing is also available here for up to 25 km. Ski equipment is available on hire or purchase your own here.
LE LIORAN (535 km)
A roughly five and a half hour drive from Paris will bring you to Le Lioran, where the skiing season lasts from December to the beginning of April. The nearest airport is St Exupery, located 196 km away.
The resort has a total of 18 ski lifts, a piste height of 1850 m above sea level and a vertical drop of 690 m with a 44 number of pistes in total. Accommodation in Le Lioran ranges from chalets, houses, apartments and hotels of all budgets.
ST JEAN D’AULPS (598 km)
Geneva international airport in Switzerland is the nearest and quickest entry point for St Jean d’Aulps, located just 42 km away. From Paris, though, it takes nearly six hours by car to reach this resort. Snow depth at St Jean d’Aulps is pretty good, with 20 pistes which are served by 14 ski lifts.
The lifts can take you up to 1773 m, while the drop down is 850m. Skiing season begins in December and lasts till the middle of April. There are 9 numbers of ski lifts in operation here, which serve 13 pistes, of which the highest is at 2350 m and the vertical drop at 1050 m. Praz de Lys-Sommand is located in Europe and can be reached both by road from Paris or by air from Geneva international airport. While from Paris it can take nearly seven hours to reach Praz de Lys-Sommand, from the airport in Geneva it is just 38 km away or a forty minutes drive.
The 53 ski slopes here are serviced by 23 ski lifts which climb up to 1996m, the highest point. The drop from here is 726 m. The season lasts from December to April. TORGON (570 km)
If you plan to drive to Torgon from Paris, it can take more than six hours to reach this resort, while if you fly to Geneva international airport you are just 60 km away from Torgon. There is another airport, Belp, which is also near at 82 km from Torgon.
