15 landscape photos that should make you want to visit New Zealand, South Island
We visited New Zealand’s south island during the middle of winter. We anticipated a lot of cloud, snow and freezing temperatures but instead we got dry, sunny days with snow only on the mountain tops.

The abnormally warm weather and clear skies meant for plenty of great opportunities to get outside for long walks and take some awesome landscape photos of the stunning mountainous landscape. It didn’t take us long to see why this country is such a popular filming location for Hollywood blockbusters.
Our New Zealand South Island highlights include the beautiful areas of Lake Wanaka, Lake Tekapo, Queenstown, Kaikoura and Abel Tasman National Park. We hope you enjoy a selection of photos we took from those favourite areas.
